Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am grateful for the life we share at Stonebridge UMC. Join us for these opportunities.

Bring-a-Tithe Sunday - This Sunday, June 28th, we will share in Bring-a-Tithe Sunday. I invite each of us prayerfully to consider offering 10% of our weekly or monthly income to the church. If you already give at that level, you might consider an additional sacrificial gift. Let us spend this Sunday giving thanks for all God has entrusted to us.

Stonebridge UMC is inviting you to one Sunday of generous, faithful giving. We are behind in regular giving to the ministries of SUMC,and your gift helps us continue serving faithfully. As you give, I encourage you to pray: “Lord, I offer this gift, myself, and my soul to You this day.”

Worship and Breakfast July 5th – On the weekend of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we will gather for one united worship service and breakfast. Breakfast begins at 10:15 a.m.; worship begins at 11:00 a.m. in the RAC. Come dressed casually and bring family, friends, and neighbors.

Vacation Bible School July 6th – 10th – VBS is coming soon, with more than 200 children and over 100 youth and adult volunteers expected. If you can volunteer, even for one day, there is still a place for you. Pray for God’s Spirit to move. Join us for opening worship one morning at 9:00 a.m. if you are able.

Celebration Hall Renovations - Renovations begin July 27th and include new paint, carpet, choir loft improvements, sound and lighting updates, and a new screen, with completion set for August 14th. I am grateful for our Trustees, led by Brian Reilly, for guiding this work. Our 9:45 a.m. Celebration worship is expected to continue without interruption.

As I close, I invite you to use this prayer by Paul Chilcote in your devotional time in the coming weeks.

Altogether Christian from Praying in the Wesleyan Spirit by Paul Chilcote

O Life-giving Creator, sometimes I feel like "almost a Christian." I am committed to justice; I try to be honest and loving; You could say, in a sense, that I have the form of godliness, but I lack the power of your love in my life.

I obey your laws: I am patient and kind to others; I help my neighbor as much as I can; I pray, read your Word, enjoy the sacrament of Holy Communion, and set apart sacred time to be with you. I am absolutely sincere when I say I want you to be in the center of my life and want to serve you from the bottom of my heart. But despite all of my efforts, I still feel like I am "almost a Christian."

Make me "altogether a Christian," O recreating God. Fill my heart to overflowing with your love. Enable me to love my neighbor as I love myself. Plant within me a sure trust and confidence that Christ died for me and loves me still. Let love be the test of my faith, O God. Help me to be altogether and not simply almost a Christian. Amen.

See you Sunday! Invite someone to church as we worship the King of kings!
