Sunday Morning Groups
8:45 - 9:45 a.m. each Sunday

Simply Christians - Room 136

  • Short-term studies on current topics. For senior adults at all stages of life and faith.

  • Leader: Jim Crabbe.

9:45 - 10:45 a.m. each Sunday

Book Club - Room 104

  • Discusses a book (chosen by the group) over 6-8 weeks. For adults ages 40+ at all stages of life and faith.

  • Leader: Barry Ebersberger.

Pathfinders - Room 257

  • Studies a wide variety of Bible-based topics. For adults of all ages and stages of life and faith.

  • Leaders: Steve Potts and Nelson Smith.

Women's Study Groups

Journey - Wednesdays from 10:00-11:30 a.m. (Room 256)

  • Next study is “Invitation to Psalms” by Michael Jinkins, beginning September 11. Books are $16.

  • Leader: Lee Wilson

Faithful Women - Thursdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. (leader's home)

  • Next study is “Miracles of Jesus” by IF:Gathering, beginning September 5. Books are $25.

  • Subsequent study is “It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way” by Lysa TerKeurst, beginning October 24. Books are $11.

  • Leader: Adriane Nelson

Book Club - 4th Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m. (Room 257)

  • Currently reading The Lake House by Kate Morton to be discussed on October 28.

  • Group of sisters in Christ who meet to discuss a book they have all read. The group then chooses a book for the following month. There is also a time of prayer when requests and praises may be shared.

Monday Morning Group
Mondays from 9:30-11:00 a.m. (Room 256)

  • Men and women studying various topics and books.

  • Next study is “The Wesleyan Way” by Scott Jones, beginning September 9. Books are $12.

Young Adult Groups

The years between high school and 30-somethings can be full of change and transition. These opportunities exist to encourage one another to live lives that reflect Jesus, while navigating life’s twists and turns. All walks of faith and life are accepted and encouraged, and love is shown to all. Hannah Walker is the contact for both groups.

Testimony at the Tavern – 1st Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

  • Gathers in bars and restaurants at Village on the Parkway in Addison, and asks questions about faith and what it means to be a Christian.

Grounded – 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

  • Meets in downtown McKinney for in-depth study, discussion of faith, and growth in community.

Short-Term Study Groups

Throughout the year, special interest groups are offered. Some will meet on Sunday mornings, and others will meet during the week. We are always happy to hear your thoughts about topics, studies, etc. that would interest you and help you grow in your faith. Contact Pastor Jana if you have ideas to share.

 When Christians Get It Wrong book study – 5 Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 p.m. (Room 252)

  • Pastor Adam Hamilton tackles the issues of politics, judgment, salvation, sexuality, tragedy, and science in helping us understand how to “get it right” when it comes to being Christ in the world. Books are $11.

  • Dates: September 24 & October 1/8/15/22

Methodism 101 – 7 Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. (Room 262)

  • Are you interested in learning more about the United Methodist Church, or would like a refresher on the basics? Join us as we explore our history, theology, way of living, and place in God’s work and world today.

  • Dates: October 2/9/16/30 & November 6/13/20

The Jesus Challenge: 21 Days of Loving God & Neighbor – 3 Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. (Room 262)

  • Enter the holiday season being more attentive to your relationship with God. We’ll learn how to move from forgetfulness to remembering, from being distracted to becoming intentional, and from self-sufficiency to reliance on God…all so we can live lives that center on loving God and loving others as ourselves. Books are $10.

If you are interested in being a part of an ongoing small group, let Pastor Jana know. Guidance and discussion ideas can be provided. Leadership in many small groups is shared among participants on a rotating basis. Gather some friends and embark on something new!
