Diving Deep Into Faith

Greetings in Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

This summer is going to be fun! The worship team has been working on creative elements for our worship that you will not want to miss. 

Beginning this Sunday, we begin a sermon series called Diving Deep Into Faith. Over the next four Sundays, we will examine scripture that leads us into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Each Sunday, we will seek to dive deeper into the life-giving waters of Jesus. 

July 5th, we will have worship together in one service at 11:00 a.m. in the Robertson Activity Center, with a full breakfast served beginning at 10:15 a.m. As we celebrate our 250th year of independence, our worship will celebrate the God who created all things and is above all things. As Jesus said when asked for the greatest commandment, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.”

This coming Sunday, we examine the call of the first disciples as shared in the Gospel of John (John 1:35-46). These first disciples saw the life-changing difference Jesus would make in their lives. As the news of Jesus spread throughout the land, people flocked to Jesus. For those early disciples, there was no pressure, as they simply responded to any objection with the words, “Come and See”. 

Celebrate Stonebridge

Next week, there are three home gatherings; June 23rd (Tuesday), June 25th (Thursday), and June 28th (Sunday after church). These gatherings are a meaningful way for our church family to listen, connect, and dream together about God’s vision for Stonebridge UMC. 

As you can see below, we have several openings available on Thursday and Sunday. Your presence matters because, as one of your pastors, I want to connect with as many people as possible. It would be a blessing to have you join us, if you are available.

  • June 25th – 6:30–8:00 p.m. (we currently have 8 and would love a few more) - Trevor and Connie Castilla hosting 

  • June 28th – 12:30-2:00 p.m. Light lunch after worship (we have 15 and could use a few more) - Dave and Becky Neeley hosting

After these three, we will have one more with a light lunch after worship on Sunday, July 12th at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Jack and Kym Radke.

This is our third year of doing home listening gatherings. These gatherings have been vital in creating ministry energy, clarifying priorities, addressing ministry needs, and giving our members a relaxed setting to get to know one another better. I hope and pray you can join us.
