An Amazing Transformation
/Greetings in the Name of our Lord,
During the week, when I arrive at the church, I will often walk the hallways. This week I have witnessed an amazing transformation. Molly Gardner, our children’s ministry director, and her volunteers have been decorating the upstairs rooms for Vacation Bible School. Each day, I find something new. Upstairs is turning into an amazing Alaskan wonderland.
The theme for VBS is True North – Trusting Jesus in a Wild World. July 7-11 the kids will explore finding their way in a world gone wild. For five days, kids (pre-K through 5th grade) will be guided on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As they trek the tundra, we’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world. Each day we will point the kids toward Jesus. True North VBS will show these kids that Jesus is a faithful friend we can always trust. Jesus is our True North!
Invite a friend, volunteer, or donate supplies at Vacation Bible School — Stonebridge UMC. It’s 16 days and counting until the fun fills the halls and worship center of Stonebridge UMC.
This Sunday is Explore/Join Stonebridge. After the 11:00 a.m. worship service, we will gather to learn about getting connected and joining our church family. We already have a great group. Let Pastor Jana or myself know you are coming. All are invited to attend as we strive to live and love like Jesus.
Sunday Worship – One of the common themes of our IMAGINE Listening Tour has been how excited people are about our worship services. One person said, “Stonebridge has the best music of any church I have attended.” Another said, “The community and the welcoming spirit is contagious.” I especially love what one person said, “I want more time during the meet and greet. It is so good to see people.”
God is moving at Stonebridge UMC. Lives are being transformed by the presence of Christ moving among us. Invite someone new to worship. Or… invite someone you have not seen in a while. Let them know that exciting things are happening here.
Sunday’s sermon is on Romans 12:1-2. Bring your Bible, we are going to dig deep into this scripture. I call this sermon "A Living Sacrifice". Join us as we explore living each day to make God smile.
See you Sunday!
