Thank You
/Greetings in the Name of our Lord,
In this email, I want to offer thanks for the great work being done around Stonebridge UMC and provide reminders about a few upcoming events.
Thank you…
Fall Festival was awesome! Thank you to Molly Gardner, Devon McCary, and their army of volunteers that made the day possible. It was fun for me to walk around the parking lot and hear how much fun the kids were having. I met a host of new people who see the Fall Festival as a “can’t miss” event.
We dedicated over 90 Harvest Boxes for Meals on Wheels! Thank you to Becky Neeley, Ellen Hefner, and Patrice DuCharme who coordinated this effort with the help of many more volunteers. Thank you to our congregation for responding with great generosity for those who are in need.
Our Imagine Our Next 30 capital campaign team is spending hours making calls, designing publications, planning gatherings, organizing worship services, creating videos, and so much more. Thank you for your hard work.
Coming up soon…
October 26 is “Join the Church Sunday”. If you are interested in becoming a member of Stonebridge UMC, we are meeting after worship at noon to answer questions and discuss how to become a member. Let me or Pastor Jana know you are coming.
Information gatherings for the Imagine Our Next 30 capital campaign begin this weekend; Sunday at 12:30 pm, Sunday at 5:30 pm, Monday at 6:30 pm, and Tuesday at 6:30 pm. It will be a great time to share food, fellowship, and hear about the vision of Imagine Our Next 30. Email me and let me know if you would like to attend and I will send you the information.
Ministry Impact Sunday is this Sunday, October 26. Our worship will focus on celebrating the ministries of Stonebridge UMC. It is going to be awesome!
All Saints Sunday is November 2. It will be a time of worship where we remember the saints who have influenced our lives.
This Sunday, I will be preaching from Mark 2:1-12, the story of Jesus healing the paralytic man. We often focus on the healing miracle. What about the other characters in this passage? This short passage gives us a glimpse into how people respond to the call of Jesus to be Kingdom Builders.
The crowd. Curious but not involved.
The scribes. Critical and determined to undermine the authority of Jesus' ministry.
The friends. Because of their belief in the power and authority of Jesus, they are willing to do whatever it takes to bring others to Christ.
How will we respond to the miracles of Jesus in our life and faith?
See you Sunday! Invite someone to worship and bring someone new to our church.
Pastor John Allen
