Malvern Summer Food Pantry

Malvern Summer Food Pantry – Fact Sheet

Stonebridge UMC has partnered with Malvern Elementary for over a decade. Malvern Elementary is a Title I school in McKinney ISD, our home school district. Our neighbors are the students, parents, teachers, and staff of Malvern. Data from 2018-19 showed that Malvern’s 522 students have the following approximate ethnic makeup: Hispanic 56%, White 15%, Black/African American 22%, and 7% of other ethnicity. Seventy-nine percent of students are economically disadvantaged. Roughly 14% of Malvern students receive special education services, and 1% are identified as gifted and talented.

During the Month of May, we’re collecting the following food items to kick start our Summer Food Pantry.

  • Ramen Soup, Chicken/Beef - 2.6 oz

  • Microwave Popcorn - 2.55 oz

  • Instant Oatmeal Packets - 20 oz

  • Tuna - 5 oz

  • Evaporated Milk - 12 oz

  • Pancake Mix - 32 oz

  • Corn - 16 oz

  • Pineapple - 20 oz

  • Peaches - 14.75 oz

  • Fruit Cocktail - 15 oz

Donations can be left black bins with yellow lids outside the Main office and RAC entrances.

The Malvern Summer Food Pantry fills the summer nutrition gap in the absence of free and reduced lunch during the school year. For more information or for questions about the Malvern Summer Food Pantry, please contact Sharon Laird.
