Lynn Harrington

Lynn Harrington of McKinney, Texas, passed on January 21, 2026. She was born on April 26, 1965, in Tyler, Texas.
Lynn lived the majority of her childhood in the small east Texas town of Chapel Hill. She completed her education attending Chapel Hill High School.
Lynn began working when she finished high school. She dedicated her life to her work, working in various places early in life. Her passion for the restaurant business soon became apparent. When she discovered her gift in cooking, her career took off leading her to explore places all over Texas from South Padre, San Antonio, Houston, Amarillo, and Dallas.
After years of traveling, Lynn settled down back home in Tyler where she started her longest career at the popular TexMex concept, On the Border. While working for On the Border, Lynn discovered her talent for training and management. Lynn remained a manager for the rest of her career. Lynn’s amazing restaurant career covered 4 1/2 decades as she worked her way up through various positions culminating in management and training.
Lynn was preceded in death by her mother Margarett Nolan, nephew Casey Barrow, and her departed fur babies: Tavin, Isaiah, and Savannah.
Lynn is survived by her wife Shelly Harrington, her daughter Alexis Harrington, and their dog Remy. She is also survived by her siblings Cindy Barrow, Butch Sumrow, and Tom Sumrow. Lynn’s other family members include Phyllis and Vance Harrington, Barbara and Allen Harrington, Kay and Bill Shields, Buz, Susie, Gabe, and Blake Edwards, Kelly and Rob Duran, and Skyler and Garrett Mitchell. Lynn has nieces Lana Barrow and Hailey Sumrow and nephews Jarrod Barrow, Brandon Barrow and Trey Sumrow.
Lynn leaves behind a legacy of service to others as she put others’ needs before her own. She will be remembered for her devotion to those she loved and the investment she made into so many lives.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 6 at 11 a.m. at Stonebridge United Methodist Church.
