A Special Message from Pastor Jeff
I write regarding an important shift in our Sunday schedule. Those that were at worship today heard me speak to this briefly.
Beginning October 6, we are changing our worship times to:
8:45 a.m. - Celebration
10:00 a.m. - Celebration
11:00 a.m. - The Bridge
The 10 a.m. Celebration and 11 a.m. The Bridge services will remain stylistically similar to what they are now, while the 8:45 a.m. Celebration service will become more traditional.
There are several reasons for this adjustment. For one, it creates three service time opportunities to better meet the needs of those with increasingly busy Sunday schedules. Giving The Bridge and Celebration their own times also allows for greater church unity, instead of the current schedule of offering alternative services during the same time frame.
Some additional reasons for the shift include:
Each service having the potential to have all pastors present.
New opportunities for small groups to meet on Sunday mornings.
Allowing the church to have our best resources available for all three services.
Increased opportunities during the 11 a.m. worship time frame for children's choir and drama activities.
I know that questions remain. In the coming weeks, there will be further communication concerning this shift. Some of this communication will come directly from staff overseeing specific ministry areas, such as Children's, Youth, Adults, and Hospitality.
Friends, worship is central to who we are and what we do as Christ-followers. I believe this shift will accentuate our worship experiences, build church unity, and allow us to give our undivided attention to God. Though it means behavior change for us all, I truly believe we will all benefit.
