It’s beginning to look a lot like….

Heart of Christmas Market
December 2 & 9

*Thank you to all those who supported our Heart of Christmas Market in 2017. We raised over $17,000 for serving ministries. If you'd still like to make a donation to the Market, simply use our online giving system and put your dollar amount in the 'Christmas Market' line.

Join us in December as we rediscover Christmas once again!
Christmas is all about God’s great gift to the world: Jesus Christ.
To honor the real meaning of one of our faith’s highest holidays, we host a Heart of Christmas Market.

The Heart of Christmas Market presents the opportunity to make a monetary gift toward one of our church’s wonderful serving ministries or partners in honor of your loved ones. For every gift of $25 or more, you will receive a beautiful Christmas ornament, along with a certificate to share with the loved ones you wish to honor.

Each serving ministry or partner will be available to answer questions and help you get connected to their ministry.

2018 Serving Ministries

The following serving ministries will be present at the Heart of Christmas Market in 2018:

Community Food PantryCommunity Food Pantry is a nonprofit outreach program that provides food to families who have found themselves in crisis. Stonebridge UMC partners with Community Food Pantry for food drives throughout the year.

Community Lifeline Center - Community Lifeline Center steps in to assist local residents in managing short-term crises to navigate their way back to self-sufficiency. This assistance ranges from financial help, to counseling, job search training, credit and budget counseling and advocacy.

Embrace TexasEmbrace’s work is two-fold: providing services to at-risk, foster and adopted children and families in our local community and equipping new and existing church orphan care ministries across the county.

Family PromiseThrough Family Promise of Collin County, we host families who are temporarily without a home once a quarter in our facility. Families spend the night in our rooms upstairs in the Robertson Activity Center. Volunteers supply the meals, play with the kids, and make the guests feel at home. This is just one part of the program, while the Network helps the families to regain sustainable independence.

Hands and Hearts for Malvern – Be a part of our partnership at Malvern Elementary. Build relationships as you tutor and mentor children, assist teachers, support the PTA, assist with teacher appreciation events and the workroom, and help sponsor a garden class for students.

Living Water InternationalLiving Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping remote communities throughout the world acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience "living water"—the gospel of Jesus Christ—which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Stonebridge UMC supports these efforts by sending 12 people to Central America every year to drill a well and teach hygiene in these communities.

Mission Kids – Mission Kids is a serving opportunity that empowers kids to change the world by helping others. Kindergarten – fifth graders become special agents doing God’s work.

Pastor’s Discretionary Fund – These funds are distributed at the discretion of the pastoral staff to congregation or community members in need for various emergent or crisis reasons.

Proyecto AbrigoThrough Proyecto Abrigo (or Project Shelter), cinderblock homes are built for families in the poorest communities of Juarez, Mexico. Teams typically make a trip to serve twice a year.

Seniors Helping SeniorsA group of Christian volunteers that help seniors and others with minor home maintenance, repairs, and special needs focusing on safety and security. The group has helped and assisted many of our own senior members and would like to expand their ministry to more seniors in the area.

Stephen Ministry - Stephen Ministers are trained to provide one-to-one ministry by reaching out to others in a time of need.

The Samaritan Inn – Stonebridge UMC provides and serves meals twice a month to residents. Each meals costs $300 and is served by members of our church. Monetary donations are needed to cover the cost of the meal, and volunteers (4-6) are needed to serve the meal.

Upper Alley Youth – The Youth participate in serving opportunities near and far. Donations provide scholarships, so more students can spread the love of Christ through their service work.

ZOE MinistryZOE Ministries is an empowerment ministry that works with orphans and vulnerable children. The organization began its work in Africa, but has since expanded to other parts of the world.  ZOE provides vocational and spiritual training to the children, whom they help organize into work cooperatives. ZOE enjoys a high success rate of taking some of the most impoverished and at-risk children and helping them gain self-sufficiency, pride, an understanding of resurrection and grace, and often a high status in their communities. Stonebridge UMC currently sponsors a working group of 60 orphans in Malawi, Africa, the poorest country in Africa. We, along with Adam Hamilton’s church, Church of the Resurrection, are the only UMC churches present in that country with ZOE right now.

General Missions Fund – These funds are designated for any of our serving ministries, not a particular one. They are available to use for any of the above serving opportunities as well as for beginning new serving opportunities.
