We encourage our students to be actively involved in ministry. Throughout the year, students can serve within the church, our community and beyond.
Local Service & Outreach
Mission Week
Students completed 6th-12th grade are invited to spend a week in the early summer to help organizations, families, the elderly, individuals and others in need. Each day, we will have an activity which students give of their time to help those in need.
Mission Trips
Proyecto Abrigo
Every summer, Senior High students travel to Juarez, Mexico to build homes in cooperation with Proyecto Abrigo. All international travel requires a valid passport. In addition, students can travel to Juarez with the mission team November, January or April if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
UMCOR Rita Recovery
For Disaster Recovery, Senior High Students travel to the Golden Triangle area of Texas to help families affected by Hurricane Rita of 2005 and Ike of 2008. Our Students have specialized in roofing projects but we will also take on lower level projects such as painting and sheet rock work.
Mid-High Mission
Middle School Students who have completed 6th-8th Grade are invited to spend three days in mission completing beginner level projects such as scraping, painting, yard work and small interior house work for those in need. This Mission trip is completely organized and run by the Students of our Church.
UM ARMY (United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth)
This Senior High mission program teams up students throughout the district and conference. Only five students will be invited to participate in UM ARMY annually. Projects will consist of building wheel chair ramps, replacing siding, roofing work, etc.
