"Speak to the Levites and say to them: 'When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the LORD's offering." Numbers 18:26
Stewardship Stewardship is much more than a churches' campaign to build new buildings. According to Webster's Dictionary, a steward is a person who "manages another's property or financial affairs; one who administers anything as the agent of another or others." One of our most important responsibilities as Christians is to faithfully manage the gifts Christ has given us.
We must understand and embrace that all we have been awarded is God's and His alone and He commands us to give a tithe (10%) back to Him. Therefore, it is up to us, His people, to follow His command. By tithing 10% of our first fruits, we demonstrate faithful stewardship.
