DISCIPLE Bible Study is a series of 32-week studies beginning with DISCIPLE I, Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study. This is the foundation of the DISCIPLE Bible Study program and the prerequisite for all other Disciple Studies. This study is designed for Christians of every Bible skill level who want to learn what it means to be a Disciple of Jesus Christ. The study starts at the beginning of the Bible, Genesis, and moves to the end of the Bible, Revelation. DISCIPLE I will enable you to explore God's Word more fully and to gain a deeper understanding of Scripture.

DISCIPLE II, Into the Word into the World encourages persons to open themselves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into service in the world by Scripture and their study of it. The Old Testament (Genesis and Exodus) portion discusses the Creation story through the Exodus of the Hebrew people from Egypt under the power of Pharaoh. The New Testament portion (Luke and Acts) discusses the life and times of Jesus and the beginnings of the early church.

DISCIPLE III, Remember Who You Are, is for those who have completed "Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study". The driving idea in this study is the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. The Old Testament prophets and the letters of Paul are continually calling hearers and readers back to their God.

DISCIPLE IV, Under the Tree of Life, is for graduates of Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study. The word "under" in the title is meant to convey invitation, welcome, sheltering, security, and rest - home at last. Present through the entire study is the sense of living toward the fulfillment of God's message and promise.

JESUS IN THE GOSPELS, a DISCIPLE Second Generation Study, invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question "who is the Jesus that you see?" This Bible study builds on the foundation and carries forward the philosophy andideals that shaped DISCIPLE - high commitment, long-term, disciplined study that fosters community and builds toward transformation. JESUS IN THE GOSPELS focuses on the portraits of Jesus found in the four Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This study looks at the way each Gospel writer presents events and teachings and at the picture of Jesus that emerges in each of the Gospels. In the course of the thirty weeks, participants will read the four Gospels and considerable amounts of Scripture from other parts of the Bible.

CHRISTIAN BELIEVER, Knowing God with Heart and Mind, continues the journey where Disciple leaves off. Using the same format as the other Disciple Studies, CHRISTIAN BELIEVER concentrates on the classical doctrines of the Christian faith - those that emerged in early Christianity and that have remained central to church teaching through the centuries. Each week focuses on one specific topic (such as faith, scripture, Jesus Christ, atonement, etc.), and examines it in light of related scriptures and classical Christian writings, and seeks to discern what the church believes about that topic.
